Very few puppet companies have ever appeared at The Harlequin Puppet Theatre, Colwyn Bay. This theatre was built as a marionette theatre and designed specifically for the resident company, The Eric Bramall Marionettes.
In 1963 Muriel and Waldo Lanchester took over the Harlequin for a performance of "Shakes versus Shav", the puppet play written by George Bernard Shaw for the Lanchester Marionettes.
