WHANNY

It was the publication of W.H. Whanslaw's book Everybody's Theatre in 1924 which inspired the founding of the Guild. His prolific output of delightfully illustrated puppet books continued to inspire several generations of puppeteers. This very early sketch was possibly intended for Everybody's Theatre - drawn in 1916 it pre-dates the Guild by eight years.
